A Little Bit
About RDI
Development-Centered
Instead of focusing on symptoms or skills training, the RDI® program carefully assesses the foundations for continued lifelong growth and strengthens any areas that may be impeding that development. Foundations are built solidly through the guiding relationship so that future growth is not only sustained but that it also drives a growth-seeking mindset.
Research-Based
The RDI® program is a cutting-edge clinical program that puts to practice the very latest evidence-based research in autism, neuroscience, and human development. Additionally, many research articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals that show how RDI impacts the core differences of autism, improves overall functioning, and effectively trains parents.
Parent-Empowering
At the core of the RDI® program is an intensive, parent training component that empowers and guides parents of autistic children, adolescents, and adults to create learning environment and appropriate support in which their loved one can thrive. Through their everyday meaningful experiences, parents learn how to influence and optimize joint engagements. Through guided joint engagements, parents learn to support curiosity, resiliency, growth seeking, higher order thinking, flexible thinking, problem solving, self-regulation and social awareness.
Quality of Life-Focused
By developing this capacity for dynamic thinking, we open the door to the possibility of a greater quality of life that includes reciprocal communication, genuine friendships, confident, independent living, prolonged relationships and meaningful employment.
